Votive Doll

These small votive figures from Maharashtra usually represent women worshipping, but we also find instances of female water carriers, mother, or pregnant women. These figures are simple in their execution which makes them attractive. Perhaps meant only for devotional purposes within the home as a votive offering, these figures are not found at shrines but placed before the Goddess Maulli/Mariai.
