Veerabhadra Plate

Vīrabhadra is an extremely fierce and fearsome form of the Hindu god Shiva.
According to the legend, Daksha organized a sacred yajna where he did not invite Shiva and Sati. Sati chooses to attend the yajna in protest, only to be insulted by Daksha in front of the attendees. Angered and humiliated by the insults, she sets herself on fire. Shiva, enraged by the incident, creates Veerabhadra and Bhadrakali from a lock of his hair and sends the two to destroy the yajna and everyone attending it, ultimately beheading Daksha. Vishu and Brahma, aware of the importance of the yajna, decided to reason with Shiva for its completion. They both went to Mount Kailash, and Lord Brahma asked to forgive Daksha for his behavior and pleaded for the return of his son. The compassionate Shiva felt pity for Prasuti (Daksha’s consort) and restored his burnt head with that of a goat.
